Any CANON cameras similar to the Canon PowerShot G9?

Do you think the G9 is a good camera? I’m looking for a new camera under $350 that takes pictures like the quality of an SLR. I like the whole blurry background..

What do you think of the Canon PowerShot SX110 IS 9-MP?

You can compare them here—

The SX110 is okay, but doesn’t have a viewfinder and that is something that is very valuable in bright sunlight, as the LCD is worthless in sunlight. Of the two, I would get the G9.

To be able to ‘take pictures like the quality of an SLR’…you need a dSLR.
From reviews of the G9, you can see that it has nowhere near the image quality or performance of a dSLR. ISO capability is fairly poor…

The SX110 IS hasn’t been reviewed as yet, but for a super zoom camera (with point & shoot simplicity AND full manual controls), it sounds good…just don’t expect dSLR-like image quality. But at less than US$300, why not? if that’s all you want to pay…but the lack of a viewfinder is a bit of a turn off though.
